Targeted metabolomics profiling was performed on human colorectal cancer tissues collected from obese and non-obese patients. Metabolite extraction and LC-MS/MS analysis were conducted using an AB SCIEX QTRAP 6500+ platform operated in multiple reaction monitoring mode. The study quantified metabolites involved in glycolysis, pentose phosphate pathway, tricarboxylic acid cycle and related metabolic pathways to investigate obesity-associated metabolic reprogramming in colorectal cancer.
