Mice were infected subcutaneously with Leishmania major. Infected and uninfected footpads were collected 7 weeks post-infection. Metabolites were extracted by a two-step protocol, first with 50% methanol (aqueous extract) then with 3:1 dichloromethane:methanol (organic extract). Liquid chromatography separation was performed on a Kinetex 1.7 um C8 100 A, LC Column 50 x 2.1 mm, with water+0.1% formic acid and acetonitrile+0.1% formic acid as mobile phases.
